hey everybody

i just got iburst a few days ago and its been great and all
cant get adsl, too far from the exchange

anyway my question is

ok things are shaped, now im guessing its to do with what port you download/using!?

if i download a ordinary file it fly through at 800k :D
ok torrents seem capped at abt 12k
but streaming audio struggle @ 128k even through port 80
even browsing youtube seems hecticly slow
everything else i do is slow and laggy
is iburst only fast for downloading normal files
then what the heck is the point of broadband????
when i download a file the link jumps to 800k anything else back down to +- 100k?

any tips????

hmm...torrents I can get up to 100K, depends on the source, youtube I have no problems with, downloads at full and browses full, dont use audio streaming

S1ght you must be on G9 hence why you get 100K on torrents

Nope. I'm on G1 and I get 100K on Torrents all the time. It's just a matter of the setup.

Protocol encryption is iBursts worst nightmare :)

ye youtube is fine and also audio streaming 128k from winamp shoutcast is usually perfect.

What setup do you have... anything we can use to improve our speeds?....:D

I use uTorrent with protocol encryption enabled and random port selection on start up. Be warned though, this setup doesn't play too well with most firewalls, but a combination of good anti-virus and a lack of common paranoia makes one unnecessary for me.

Bitcomet is also a good choice but ONLY WHILE UNCAPPED. Speeds on it compared to uTorrent are pitiful when cappage occurs.

the protocol encryption works!!!! torrents 800 - 900 k :) just waiting for that external antenna then should get 1000 k :) yipeee!
