I live in Centurion and when doing a SAIX Telkom speed test i get a faster up and download speed when testing Durban server than what i get testing Johannesburg server,what would the reason be ?

Maybe try using a public DNS like the Google one. If you have an active VPN connection it can also be that.

Could also just be one specific server, try 3-4 different servers from both locations and try use servers hosted by major providers then compare.
I just tested on 2 different servers both located in Randburg and the speeds were quite different.
