Speed Upgraded

Some testing...

for our site in Cape Town I only see 1536kbps 188kilobyte/s to the Telkom DSL speed test and only downloading 135kb/s from microsoft, methinks there be a constraint in CTN somewhere!

I see full steam on our jhb sites though.

D

EDIT...

should have checked the SAIX site first, I was seeing a burst speed on the 4096 before being throttled back to 1024. I check SAIX site to confirm that BRAS is still at 1024. so CTN sites do not appear upgraded as yet.

Loving this!! In CT Rondebosch!

@Damian24, I am in Cape Town and my speed has been bumped but it is very inconsistent, started off okay but I have noticed the Telkom speed test fluctuates quite a bit. There is also something going on with the international ping (thread opened here)

Speeds are like a yo-yo. Just completed a speed test on Telkom site. Said i download at 3.9kb/s on a 4mb line. The network is stuffed...

Sweet like lemon ;) ;)
now i want my 8mb line Telkom, 4mb not fast enough for my liking.

mmmm.....Beware of Telkom....They might just let you have 4mb/s for a while, and once youre used to it, back to 1024kb/s......Then youre just WANNA get that 4mb/s...
PS: hope im wrong ;)

I honestly think that this is all a big Telkom scam....upgrading all 1024 users to 4mb. ;)

I think they're gonna upgrade everyone up to compensate for cash loss that they've had with the recent ADSL regulations.

192k --> 384k 384k--> 512k 512k-->1024k 1024k-->4mb

our office in JHB has been upgraded - now just waiting for the same to happen to my home line!

i am getting 120 - 180KB/s on torrents, only d/l 4 files though. need to d/l more torrents, not until i get my new hdd next week though.

They need 4mbit for their IPTV venture and they wont increase line price because then IPTV loses appeal to to expense
