Using Nokia 6288 to connect to the internet via vodacom network in Strand, Cape Town. My signal Strength bar is at full and has the 3G logo next to it. However when I connect via the nokia software I only get a conection of 115Kbps. Is this right? My virgin number gets same speed and is 50c a meg as opposed to vodacoms R2 a meg? Is this just how it is or is there a way for me to get 3G speeds using my Cell.

Firstly, why are you using OOB instead of buying a data bundle...?

Please click here, run a few tests and post both the download & upload speed test results - preferably do the speed tests outdoors if possible - otherwise try holding the phone out of a nearby window without dropping it, then compare to indoor speed test results.

AFAIK the 115Kbps is the speed between your pc an phone and not the speed from your phone to your isp

Goto speed.vodacom.co.za this will show your isp speed on vodacom on cell c use www.speedtest.net you can compare the diffs if you get slow results on vodacom phone 155 and have them activate your 3g/hsdpa service (thats if the phone supports it) the 115kbps is the port speed.
