Hello!

I ordered a laptop and a 3g modem today on MyGig 1 from VodaCom. It comes with a Vodafone K3772 modem.
What sort of transfer rate/download speed should I expect. I'm in the Durban area, if that helps.

Strictly dependent on Coverage in your area.
Maximum advertised speed is 24 Mb/s, transfer rate of 3MB/s in THEORY or 3000KB/s.

This is theory, and although reported post here:http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/60978-Vodacom-Speed-Test-amp-Results-speed-vodacom-co-za-amp-speedtest-net/page73 say that they have gotten 23 Mb/s I still need to see that for myself.

You can bet on roughly 4-6MB/s connection speed giving you transfer rate of between 400-600 kb/s.

But it's also dependent on what you're downloading.
Certain servers will max out your transfer rate, especially internationally...

I read through the thread you showed me and it got me wondering, how would I go about putting an antennae on my modem (K3772)?
