ANC Youth League president Julius Malema has remained mum about allegations of him threatening traffic officers who flagged him down for speeding.

The altercation was reported in a Sunday newspaper.

The report said that when nine officers had flagged him to stop, he started flashing his headlights, suggesting he was in a hurry. The officers had to physically move onto the road to bring Malema's car to a halt.

He reportedly asked an officer: "Who do you think you are? Are you not aware that I am Julius, the president of the ANC Youth League? I know that some of you hate me."

The newspaper reported that after being stopped, Malema took out his cellphone and called Limpopo roads MEC Pinkie Kekana as well as senior ANC and government officials to come to the scene and "discipline" the traffic officers.

The newspaper reported that the traffic department followed up the matter the next day, issuing the cops with letters in which written statements were demanded on their alleged mistreatment of the youth league leader.

The cops apparently refused to obey the instructions unless the department produced a written letter of complaint from Malema.

Ah, some animals are more equal than others, right? Nobody is above the law, Julius!

Good on the police, though. Hopefully Julius will turn enough people against him before he makes it into real party politics.

This guy is a serious threat if he comes into power one day :(
This being Africa, nothing is impossible with these guys!

Yes, but do they all sound like mad despotic youth league leaders whose Pedi is suffering and do no have a grasp on the English language to you?

Thats why I say looks are easy to fake but brain damage, not so much...
