Speeding Ticket in Colesburg

Hi guys,

Not sure if I am posing this in the correction section. If I am not, Mods please help a brother out and move.

Anyways, so I got a 2k speeding ticket in Colesburg a month back. I was doing 116 in a 80 zone. The ticket amount is just too much and would like to get it reduced. Not only but they want this in a months time. The ticket was issued a month back but only snail mailed itself to me in a month, thus leaving on one month to pay.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Fairly light fine considering your just shy of 50% above the speed limit.
 
They mailed it to you ? Did you yourself take it out of the mailbox and signed that you received it ? Mmm....
 
Pay... And drive slower there. I always laugh at people flying past me in that area when driving through the towns below the speed limit.

Assuming that you the perfect human with no fines or wrong doings.

Truthfully speaking I was rushing to the hospital to go see someone. Hence I will probably go argue this one. Wasn't joy riding for your laughs and kicks bonzo!

Hehehehe. I think this ticket will eventually see the dust can to be honest. Not this month. This is too much. I will pay a fine for speeding as I was wrong, but not for 2k. That the officer can rather find someone else to pay for the helicopter fuel for his KFC trip.

Until someone gets hurt. Hate it when people justify their actions like this.
Unless it was really an emergency he should pay what he owes. The law is the law and by not adhering to the speed limit he broke the law. No grey areas.
 
The law is out dated and exploited to make money.

If they really cared about the safety of people that would enforce the wearing of seatbelts more rigorously and have cameras rather fine those who do not keep a safe following distance. Then there is the matter of keeping roads in a safe condition and ensuring unroadworthy cars are kept off the road.

That is if safety was their concern, but it's not. So stuff them and their speed fines.

BS. Every morning to work there's atleast 3 or 4 fcknuts driving like schit. Passing on the left, cutting infront of me, half of the lights not working... BUT, Mr. Traffic Officer will sit at 5 AM in our quiet suburb waiting for someone to not come to a complete stop at the quiet crossing.

When and where the traffic officer sits and waits for those speeding is irrelevant. If you are caught speeding then you are caught. Those fknuts you are referring to should be caught if they are driving like schit and unfortunately are rarely caught..... I hate this too.

The OP did 116 in an 80 zone meaning he was still quite close to a residential/business area where there is pedestrians and probably other drivers sticking to the 80km/h speed limit with this guy flying past at 116km/h.
 
Also got my fine on that same road...Colesberg. Think it said i was doing 101... can't remember. Thing is, I ALWAYS slow down comming into towns, knowing they always sit somewhere with a camera. So... If i'm doing 120, then slow down to 100, 80 etc... where are they sitting ? Right at the 80 sign ? So catching you as you are busy slowing down... Or maybe at the 100 sign ? You never know do you ?
