Has anyone used this before?

I've been looking for something like this and it seems like quite a nice network inventory system (Even includes helpdesk apparently).

Just wondering if anyone had any previous experience with it so I know whats good or what to avoid before I try use it on my work's network.

I loaded it... but couldn't get it to work... was a bit complicated. Was hoping it would be simpler. Maybe I am just dumb. :p

I use it at work, and it's a pretty useful program. I've managed to pull all sorts of useful data out of the network, sometimes it tells me of things ahead of time, like toner cartridges being low etc...

Version 3 came with a lot of changes, not all for the better. It was pretty buggy, and while 3.1 has improved things, I think version 2.1 was the best so far.

I don't even make use of the helpdesk features, my users would never adjust. Far to easy for them just to phone me.

If you have a medium sized network, it's really worth looking into. Eventually you can't live without the information anymore.

Fixed your link :)

Just one note to those who are planning to test it. Make sure that the ports WMI use is open on the firewall of each computer going to be scanned, because Spiceworks uses WMI on Windows platforms to pick up it's info. Without WMI, it's most likely to return your computer as an "Unknown".
