Hi guys,

So, I've noticed something rather peculiar of late. When uploading my ping spikes to the below:

Code:
Pinging 8.8.8.8 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=2430ms TTL=55
Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=2475ms TTL=55
Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=2565ms TTL=55
Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=2424ms TTL=55

Ping statistics for 8.8.8.8:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 2424ms, Maximum = 2565ms, Average = 2473ms

And when it's done it reverts back to normal, surely the ping should spike, but not to 1000ms +?

Thoughts?

That's normal on DSl/any asymmetric service.

Happens to me as well.Specially when wifey is on whatsapp with the family and sharing photos,games are terrible to play

If your upstream (upload) is maxed out, the ping request going out, and coming back in, is delayed.

The same goes for if your downstream (download) is also saturated.

Anything up or down are "packets" (TCP usually). And they all stand in line to go out or come in. If the ping request is #1984 in the queue, there will be a delay for it to go out or in (or both)
