The Samsung is a OK drive. The Seagate is better. That said I'd rather spend that R700 more and get 2 Samsungs than one Seagate so I could backup everything on the first drive to the second drive...

Ok ok! R225 difference. So it would just be R831 (not R700) more to get 2 of the Samsungs so you have one for backing up purposes. Just my opinion, use it, dont use it...

About your question, 167GB Max per disk, means this HD consist of 3 disks, 167*3=501GB, but don't expect 500GB after you boot with MS OS because HD manufacturer use 1000kb=1Mb, 1000Mb=1GB, but MS use 1024=1Mb,1024Mb=1GB. So you will get 'less'.....
