Spit braai meat

Hi There

I am looking to feed 60-70 people on a spit braai (which we have) and I would like lamb, beef, pork and chicken. I think I will do 3 chickens on the rotisserie on the braai. I would like to then do 12kg, made up of 6kg lamb, 3kg beef and 3kg pork. Do you think this is enough? What is the best cut of meat to buy and best place to get it from in Joburg Northern suburbs.

Was enough for 50 people.

Butchery where I ordered is based in Modimolle (150km from Pretoria) so a bit impractical but thought I I'd share in any case...

I used Delft Butchery at Eagles Landing Shopping Centre. 011 794 7295. They do a great job in my opinion. I used they in June this year. they came highly regarded, I was impressed.

That's 24kg of raw 'meat' which comes to about 340g per person, remove the bones, fat, sinew etc and it's way less. The chickens won't even count as they're vegetables.

Why not a lamb and a pig on the spit. And possibly braai beef. This would also be the easiest and cheapest.

Rather buy a quarter beef (+-R3k) & you are sorted
