Sorry if this has been asked before...

I have a pc here at the office with both a VGA and DVI port (both onboard). Is it possible to connect two monitors to this pc for dual screen purposes or are these two ports both part of the same 'graphics card' (if that makes sense), meaning I can't?

Well, why don't you just plug two monitors in and see for yourself...all motherboards are different, besides you haven't even mentioned the motherboard or chipset.

It won't do any harm to try :)

Haha, I would if I had a second monitor. I don't want to go buy one though if it isn't going to work :)

Technically if will work, but check if your DVI. DVI-D is digital and DVI-I is for analog and digital. don't buy a analog monitor and a DVI-D-to VGA convertor. it won't work. DVI-I is the one with the extra 4 pins.
