A couple of weeks ago I canceled my contract at MTN to port to Vodacom just to get a stupid iPhone... Now my contract expires in about three weeks, and I am no closer to getting a contract from Vodacom.
I filled in all the papers, they ask for my current work and salary... Filled that in and now they will only give me a TopUp 135... At MTN I have a full contract without ever missing one payment, but now Vodacom won't give me a proper contract... Why? Can't they just go and look at my record at MTN and see I never missed a single payment? Damn I hate it. Now my dad has to go and do the port for me, in his name which means I won't have the number on my name anymore just because Vodacom thinks I cannot afford a proper contract... Starting to wonder if the iPhone is worth it.

The title is misleading tbh, it seems that GETTING the actual contract is more the issue than porting the number.

Anyways, I ported from CellC to VC without ANY hassles. Worked right from the start.

My nickname doesn't have the word 'student' in it so I think that my payslip also helped the process along. I ported my wife's contract from CellC something to VC Business Topup 315, and got the iPhone on that. Paid in what was due -> happy me.
