Hi all I came across Spotbot that you plug in to your NVR for human detection. I see most of their videos are from 3 years ago and technology came along way. Anyone here got any experience with Potbot?
Thanks SJ

Most NVR solutions these days have this built in.

You can also do it yourself using software like BlurIris or even opensource solutions like Scrypted (with the appropriate plugins).

Cheers bud, yes I have Blueiris myself but too much mucking around to get it working with minimal false alarms re shadows. Great if you want to spend 6 months learning it and do a phd in machine vision. Average Joe want to plug it in and it should work. Blueiris too many updates, alerts stop working if iphone updates only to wait for the software update to come out. With load shedding and most using batteries to run power one need something with low power consumption.
I installed a Eufy 330 system with 2 cameras and it works fine, however it relies on having internet plus susceptible to jamming. This ticks the box but internet is a must and the jammers seem freely available in RSA now.

How'd that username work out for you?
Still with Telkom at R199 80g + 80 gig can’t beat it. Xpol type roof antenna and Huawei router b618 … oldies have limited issues. 8ta name disappeared but it was always Telkom. Very fast speeds.

I would just get a system that does this locally then if you have concerns about cloud access.

I've had my Unifi system for a while now and overall very happy with it, everything can be done locally.
