Spotify Launched in SA

Tool.

Always missing. :)

That reminds me - Rammstein is on Spotify as well, google has none. This is looking better and better, I must say.

As for Tool, well, that's never going to be on streaming platforms. We do, however get APC and Puscifer, which is something.

They've started recording the new album, much excite!

Pirate and upload to Google. Stream it from there...

Their app is so much better than iTunes - now only if they had an Apple watch app, but I'll probably switch anyway. Missed Spotify so much :p

Allegedly recording...

But Apple Music has Rammstein at least.

I've only recently used Google Music again in free mode to sync my own collection...because Apple Music doesn't work on Android Auto.

New APC sounded good so far as well.

Sure, but if there's an option that supports the music I want to listen to, I'd much rather use that.

I am certainly struggling to find a reason to continue to pay google R50 a month at this point.
Fair enough. It's their choice though..

I'll stream off YouTube where I can. Hopefully they get a slice of that. Not to mention their videos aren't that bad...

I've used Spotify before. The app and integration to desktop program is better. Controlling desktop from phone is awesome.

I'll probably switch from GPM for the Spotify trial just to see how that works again...

If their family deal is comparable, I'd switch.

To the musos, try them all and please weigh in on which is better for new discoveries

Not really. The web player is still limited to 160kbps ogg so no point in paying for premium. To get better audio quality you must install the desktop app like it 1998 and Winamp is the best. Not sure what the big hoo-ha is with Spotify.

I personally don't use a web player. I'm waiting for the iOS app, in the meantime the desktop player is really good on macOS and a fitting replacement for iTunes.

Free or paid. You can only import files on local network which is a crappy solution.
I'm still not quite understanding.

Either way you said you can't upload. Now you are saying you can, but differently.

How is it different? I've not used it in many years.
