Does your Spotify content also pull from akamai directly when you check resource monitor /IPVFOO from Cape Town?
I'll try clear the cache and reinstall the app, see what happens.I had this before and it was the device, had to clear some cache and reinstall the app.
Have you tried on multiple devices with the same result?
So is it on your PC?Still happening after complete re-install (which was a super slow, less than 1MB/s, download from the Windows Store). Confirmed that as I uninstalled the app it completely cleared the cache location of the Spotify app.
You can also use the CISP UK VPN to test from "another" location.Yes, I'll try from my phone for a bit to try rule things out, but it's really quite inconvenient compared to my PC as I can't use my keyboard shortcut to pause Spotify if I have a Teams call come in and using the multiple sources for my headset is also a bit painful.
Yeah I understand but the point is just to rule out certain factors at a time, otherwise we have no process of troubleshooting. We cant just make assumptions its one thing.Yes, I'll try from my phone for a bit to try rule things out, but it's really quite inconvenient compared to my PC as I can't use my keyboard shortcut to pause Spotify if I have a Teams call come in and using the multiple sources for my headset is also a bit painful.
I only ever had this when spotify's caching somehow went fubar and after clearing that, doing reinstall, it went away on its own. Spotify pausing is a rather known issue as looking it up would tell you e.g. random pausing for 2 secs.Still happening after complete re-install (which was a super slow, less than 1MB/s, download from the Windows Store). Didn't notice any pausing on phone, but issue isn't something I can reliably reproduce, sometimes it would happen a few times in an hour, other times not for hours at a time.Did the pausing occur while testing on your phone?
Thanks, but had already done this after changing DNS settings.Just a tip, if you execute ipconfig /flushdns you need to execute ipconfig /register dns for it to actually take effect.
After all this time it was a faulty cable LOLDidn't notice any pausing on phone, but issue isn't something I can reliably reproduce, sometimes it would happen a few times in an hour, other times not for hours at a time.
But I did notice on a Teams call yesterday where sound would cut out on my headset then come back again, it's also worth noting that Spotify would tend to show an error when it could not play content and this is the same error that pops up in Spotify if I unplug by headset receiver from USB.
Something that's changed in the last couple of weeks is that I upgraded my screen from a Dell 2423DE to P2724DEB, they both have integrated USB-C docks which is the single thing my work laptop plugs into (including for power).
The newer monitor has a KVM switch capability for the rare occasions I game on my desktop (which is plugged in by single DP cable + USB-B), so I removed an old USB "switch box" from my set up and at the same time changed the USB cable I use to my headset's receiver (see here) so that I could use the nicer USB cable on the rare occasion I take my laptop into the office without having to undo cable ties.
My theory for now is that either the alternate USB cable was bad, or something about using the newer monitor as a USB hub is a problem. The USB-C dock is driving both my 1440p screens without issue, but the monitors are running over "USB-C DP alt-mode" and not on the USB stack itself.
It's possible that I've experienced my network (ethernet cable plugged into the monitor) occasionally cutting out, but as the WiFi under these brief issues didn't seem to work either, I'll need to pay closer attention during these situations to see what's actually happening.
Today I've been running with my headset receiver plugged straight into the laptop with its original USB cable so far without issue. If for whole day it's fine I'll plug it back into the screen and see.

Real possibility the integrated USB hub in the monitor is a problem, and that is not so easily resolved or easy to point out to Dell when the issue is intermittent. After all this time it was a faulty cable LOL
Personally I use a 4 PC dual HDMI + 4usb port kvm Switch that I got about 2 years ago on Ali ExpressDidn't notice any pausing on phone, but issue isn't something I can reliably reproduce, sometimes it would happen a few times in an hour, other times not for hours at a time.

But that's a pretty decent amount of IO there for a Monitor. I would also be upset if it was problematic.
I really enjoy my set up. The second monitor is plugged into the DP out of my first monitor making the amount of cables really minimal (considering the amount of things connected). As mentioned before, single cable to the notebook and even the desktop as pictured here has minimal cables despite also driving two screens (DP MST is pretty cool).Personally I use a 4 PC dual HDMI + 4usb port kvm Switch that I got about 2 years ago on Ali Express
Pleasantly surprised with it after 2 years and no issues.
Granted I don't use it for ethernet over USB , nor for power so not as seamless as your one -cable solution
I still have power, single USB cable, ethernet and 2X HDMI plugged into my laptop, but when having to switch monitors, audio, keyboard and mouse between 3 PC's its a breeze. Or when I pack up and leave, I just have to remove those cables
For my Dell Monitor I only really have to switch Inputs to Display port when I want to game. So thats 2 HDMI's for the KVM, and then just a Display port direct into the Dell Monitor (S2722DGM)
But since you want a one-cable solution, this kind of KVM switch might not be appealing to you.
