I really don't see the point of forcing the wife and kids to sign up for another google account just for YT's family plan.

The juice just isn't worth the squeeze.

In terms of music? I leave that up to the kids. They're happy with spotify, plus it works well with Alexa, unlike Apple Music, so that also works in its favour.

In terms of video I'd rather spend the money on other services.
 
@46Female I would advise you to rather avoid Spotify altogether and use another service.

Why?

1. Spotify deplatforms artists they do not agree with or whose political/personal views do not align with theirs.
2. Things vanish or become "greyed out" in your playlist for no reason at all, and asking them why, will ensure an automated response. Trying to fight this is futile. I've tried three times.
3. They have a serious beef with the following people (whom they have deplatformed to various degrees)
- Koos Kombuis
- Trevor Horn
- David Birch
- Alan Parsons
- Japanese band OFF COURSE
- The Japanese cover artist Tsuyu
- Numerous Korean Pop artists (which led to outrage recently in the US IIRC)

Add it to your playlist today... it might be gone in 6 months' time. i.e. greyed out.


Because I can... F**K SPOTIFY!!!

The desktop Browser version of free doesn't have these limitations and I use Adblock which blocks 90% of adverts. For listening to something while getting work done it's a good free solution.
