Hi

Does anyone have any idea to sign up for a premium spotify account.

Tried a vpn but fails when it detects a za credit card.

Many thanks

Johnathan

Does Spotify have something others already available in ZA don't?

yep I need something that works with the amazon echo for music.

It's a bit complicated. Create a US PayPal account and an Entropay account to setup a virtual credit card and then link that to the PayPal account.

You are welcome to disagree of course. But the facts speak for themselves. Spotify has entire albums that cannot be found on either Google or Apple.
It'll just be albums with region restrictions because Spotify isn't available here and you're accessing the US catalog. Overall Google and Apple still got more albums AFAIK.

I was talking about spotify and pandora yesterday and told a friend i need to get a way to get spotify premium for free and when I got home I did a quick google search and found a link. I now have premium version for free. the only issue people have found is you cannot download stuff but why would you when its all stored on spotify?

Its a pain here though as you need the vpn , spotify only allows 14 days usage abroad before you need to re-download the modded app and reinstall.

oh ok let me run it for 14 days and see what happens. I installed it sunday night so will report back if I see anything happen.

Just use Tunnelbear. You get 500mb which is more then enough to activate it again.

I actually found it shut you out before the 14 days, think i used it once for a week then had to "talk to the mother ship again"

So gave up and tried Google music which is decent but I don't enjoy the interface and it borked my music when it matched.
Using Apple Music at the moment and it matched and and uploaded my existing library with few issues.
Bonus is its only R30 pm

Regarding Google music , why is their quality not the same as the some of the others.
I know most people wont notice but I noticed on this album so did the test.
Apple Music sounds better.

Take for example: Psycho Circus (Live) - Symphony: Alive IV
I have the .mp3 (Google Play download not recording) and iTunes Matched one.

Why? We already have Deezer, Apple Music, Google Play music, Simfy, Tidal etc.

Spotify is on another level when it comes to curated playlists and radio stations. I wouldn't hesitate to pay for a monthly sub if they came to SA, even if it was just to discover new music and replicate the new playlists in iTunes.

How do you get that to work? PayPal keeps sending me back to the Spotify website without a proper error message when trying to pay, whether or not I use a US VPN. That's with a US PayPal account and Entropay card set up in it with an adequate balance.

Can you not send funds form SA Paypal to US account?

When I used Spotify I did it via gift cards. Pay a service like JerryCards or so for the cards and use that to keep your sub alive. It became a massive pain in the arse though. I've been using Apple Music for a while now but it just can't match Spotify...and I'm left with using iTunes which is like pulling teeth most of the time.
