Visited the West Coast National Park on Saturday, to see the nice blommetjies

Was a gorgeous day. Cool in the morning, but warm around midday. I was initially a bit concerned as it appeared as if a nasty fog might spoil the fun, but fortunately it lifted early.

Judging from the number of people there it seemed that they too were enjoying the long weekend and pleasant weather. If anyone took spring pics, please feel free to add them to herald the arrival of spring.

Herewith my bunch, minimal post processing done, due to time constraints...mostly I have tried to choose a selection that conveys the extent of the fields & fields of flowers.

all the photos are awesome, but that last one in the first bunch (closeup of the red flower) is amazing...

Thanks Mic_y :)

Am I the only one seeing spring? C'mon peoples, let's see your "spling has splung" pics!

Hows a few more as a refresher then. It was such nice weather in CT yesterday, that I and SO went for walkies at Kirstenbosch botanical gardens:

I have no idea what this is, but it's a stunning looking flower.

Of special interest was the Protea garden, where various varieties were in full bloom:

Really odd one this - the more you zoom in the stranger it looks.

DUDE, nice pics! What camera are u using?

Does it really matter what Tosser is using? Tosser saw the shot in his mind's eye, then used composition, timing, lighting and a camera to arrive at the end result. The camera is a by-product of Tosser's photography, which happens to be a Sony DSLR-A350.

Either that, or it's a Sony A350! :D:D:D

The camera is a by-product of Sony's R&D.

The photos are a by-product of Tosser's use of the camera.

Funny thing is I think composition, timing, even lighting to an extent could one day all be replaced with a giant sensor simply recording everything over a period of time and just editing it later.

Some nice pics in there Tosser - what kind of batteries do you use in your camera? :p

Found it . . .

Thinking back . . . does PE even have Springtime?

thanks Fee. What I've learn't from these guys is that the equipment is merely an apparatus to facilitate in the creation of a photograph.

If you look at Ldmelsa pics, you will quickly realise that no piece of equipment can perceive colours like he does, if you look at Bwana's pics, then you will quickly realise that no equipment can create a picture like he does, and so forth.
If you look at some of Rouxenators pics then you will realise that you hardly need a camera & a shoebox will do!

Me? I just was lucky as my subject matter was stunning.

Aaaargh, was wondering when someone was going to post one! :)

Nice shots those Tosser, Must be lovely in the Botanical garden!

Springtime? I could not find the right object to shoot but this will give the right idea, My "Time on a spring" Photo" object.
