Spur Incident

She didn't sound scared to me. If she was scared she would have kept quiet or backed off. Or maybe cried.

Not everyone is the same, this guy threatens to physically her, her reaction is to lash out and make a scene. Fight or flight response, she just chose to fight back.

That is sexist. Weaker because she is a woman?
Nobody is defending the guy he is a douche.

So you are saying she is not physically weaker then him? And yes, there are quite a few people in this thread seeing nothing wrong with this guys actions.

You could hear in that woman's voice she was scared. She was defending herself against the bully, the fact that people are still defending this guy is actually a little scary. How can you not see what an ******* he is? Did you even watch the video?

lol she wasn't scared, she stood up against his remark and challenged it. but you want to see a victim.

and btw, have you ever seen when people get upset and worked up or fight, some people start shaking and hyperventilating and talk like they about to cry, some do cry, or some just cant talk they get their words mixed up.

her voice tone is not fear, its a natural state from being overwhelmed by emotion.

i take it you have not seen many fights or heated arguments in your life.

While I agree with most of what you say, I disagree with the bold part. Yes, you do get men that are exactly what you describe, like this cowardly imbecile in this video, but most men are not like this. That is quite a bold sexist statement to make. So you cannot accuse somebody of being racist and then turn around and say something sexist, that makes you no different to the racists on MyBB.

Disregarding the racial undertones in his post, his opinion regarding male on female violence is substantiated by the domestic violence statistics from various surveys undertaken in SA, eg. WHO.

One in every four women is physically abused by her intimate partner. Every six hours, a woman is killed by her current or former intimate partner.

SAPS have been requested to provide a separate statistic on domestic violence but seem loathe to do so and they lump it into other generic categories.

I actually have, and no two circumstances is the same. And if you can't see that a small lady like that is **** scared when a big guy like that threatens to PK her, then you just don't want to see it. You can decide for yourself about your reasons.

I'm not saying that we do not have a problem with men in this country, I'm just saying that most men are not like this. I do know of a few, but most men are know would never dream of lifting a hand to their wives. That's why I say that's a crappy generalization.

So it is the same small handful of men that goes around beating women?

Her child acted like a savage and she defended that behaviour.
I'd be equally outraged if my child was on the receiving end of this wanton violence.
That does not make me racist or a woman basher.
It's about her lack of civility and conscience.

The liberals in this thread obviously don't recognise this fact.
Yet again, the big bad white guy gets all the blame.
Man, these liberals are a most self loathing bunch.

Only you know how you get to that. But if 10 percent of the men in the country are woman beaters (for arguments sake), then you can't lump in the other 90% and say men are like that.

Its about her lack of civility an conscience.

I assume you do not have kids, kids tend to fight a lot. It's how the adults handle themselves when that happens that teaches the kids right from wrong. And looking at both of their behaviors, I think you can assume both their kids are little ****s. Kids tend to behave like they see their parents do, and both of these two are aggressive and argumentative, with one even being violent.

And for those that said nobody is defending this douche, please see the above post.

Nope, not worth it.

I would simply have reported the incident to management, made a civlised comment to the other parent regarding her child's behaviour, paid my bill and taken my family elsewhere.

Let's look at the desired outcomes here:

What would you expect Spur management to have done "right away"? Inform the other parent of her child's behaviour and request an apology? Not going to happen...

What could you possibly achieve by "accosting" the other parent? An apology? Not going to happen...

Ergo, a no-win situation so walk away.

some kid double the size of mine punches my child against the head.

i inform the parent, the parent tells me to FO.

i would also say i would give her a PK, at the very least. just to remind her that i can bring her back down to earth if i wanted.

i like how this is turning into abusive men(ooh the evil man), what about abusive women?

women can't be weaker than men, women and men are equal. that is the feminists told us.

feminists can't be wrong, they are always right, something must be wrong but feminists can't be wrong....

if you say feminists are wrong, then you must be a facist.

:D

You appear to live in a very sheltered world...

"Savage"? Really? Kids don't fight nowadays? And so sorry but all the evidence of past violence and offenses by this man contradicts the false narrative you are trying to create.

we are only seeing the video when the argument has escalated into a screaming match. who says he didn't approach her in a decent manner to begin with and she carried on like a banshee.
