Having been encouraged by clients to adopt a written code of conduct, the SQLite developers elected to govern their interactions with each other, with their clients, and with the larger SQLite user community in accordance with the "instruments of good works" from chapter 4 of The Rule of St. Benedict. This code of conduct has proven its mettle in thousands of diverse communities for over 1,500 years, and has served as a baseline for many civil law codes since the time of Charlemagne.

... so being the heathen I am, what's a good alternative to SQLite...

...and just in case you were wondering...

Make peace with your adversary before the sun sets.

I don't know about SQLlite devs, but MANY is the time I've had to keep fighting my adversary well after the sun sets; occasionally even until it rises again when the bug is stubborn and the deadline is close.

Also WTF.

depends on what your requirements are for the DB.... embedded?

Lol...
This rule applies to SQLite developers, not to users of the SQLite code.
... guess I'm safe :p heathen users are tolerated...
fine print: SQLite's "Spanish" inquisition starts tomorrow at 10am.

TBH I don't really care much about their code of conduct. SQLite's useful, I'll use it. More interesting to me, is the nagging suspicion that while they are called bigots for invoking Christianity in their code of conduct, were it Islam, Judaism or pretty much anything else, everyone would be cool with embracing all the wholesome diversity, and those that were not would be the ones accused of bigotry. But honestly, at the end of the day does it change the utility of SQLite, and do I care much more than the effort it took me to write this?

Marxist ideology demands an oppressor vs oppressed narrative.

And if none exist, then they will be invented. The whole planet is turning into a communist circus parade.

And no one has a problem with this (besides the religion thing of the old one which is now "fixed", just picked this up while scrolling):

I find it dumb/stupid to include this, they should leave politics/social issues out of it.

Btw, if you were looking for the original code of ethics as a direct link (it's the first option that Droid linked): https://sqlite.org/codeofethics.html

I think you are in the wrong century. The “communists” have become the creditors :)
