I just hate it when my Jetta's shocks start to squeak after a bit of city driving. What the hell can one do to get it quiet? It's still good, just squeaking.

It might not actually be the shocks that are squeaking - think of all the other joints that move when your wheel does... Have you traced it to the shocks?

I didn't think of that, maybe it is one of the others. I wish I could silence it. But I guess there isn't a solution.

There must/is a solution bud. The real reason just need to be properly diagnosed thereforev take it to a exspert for a free checkup/test. Say you need a quote and then just do it yourself rather. :D

Stokstert was correct...spray the bushes with something like Q20, bounce the car, spray again, and spray again after a run...should sort you out. shocks per se will not squeak...it will be something attached to the shock...like the bushes, that are making a noise.

If it is a Mk3 Jetta, your top mointing joints on the front shocks can be total sods and very noisy...the only way out there is a replacement bush...hope that info helps....

Im just waiting on the rains to come... my brakes are squeaky, shocks feel hard and rough.... a little moisture in the air will sort out all these issues...

I think/hope!:p

Thing with driving a citi, you realise how much the weather affects a car, performance and comfort... all the new BMs on the road also have squeaky brakes, im sure its just the weather...

It is most likely that a coil spring is making the noise, not the shock.
