SSD Drive Buy

OSX Lion indexes the drive automatically. I downloaded the trim enabler app and switched it on what difference will TRIM make on performance and drive life I read some say I lengthens the life others claim it does not.I don't really get a clear answer as other claim garbage handler is built into the drive so no need to have trimm on

I would like some views of users of ssd drives what there experiences are in both scenarios
