SSD / HDD Caddy to replace my optical drive

Howdy all,

I am urgently looking for a caddy for my Samsung 850 pro (It has been lying in my unused desktop for over a year). I want to replace my optical drive on my MSI GE72 2QF.

I cannot order online as I am due to travel within the next few days so I would prefer to purchase and collect in the Pretoria area.

Anyone have any ideas where I might be able to get one?

No problem. It’s not critical but the extra storage would come in handy.

Found one! In town close to Church square of all places. My Evo Pro is going to be put to good use again.

Put the HDD in the caddy and the SSD in the HDD bay. Many times on laptops you will find the optical device connected to a slower SATA interface.

Good point there. I think the HDD bay is SATA2 but it may be slower. I'll have a check.
