SSD noob advice

RAM drive is there to prolong the life of your SSD. You point your general and app specific TEMP locations to it to prevent data (that is only going to end up being deleted; possible very soon) being written to the SSD.

RAM drive is temporary - it is totally UNsafe. Machine off = data loss. But it's TEMP so it doesn't matter.
 
How safe is the ram drive compared to a ssd?

Not safe at all if they power goes out seeing the data gets wipe but you don't use it for data storage though, you use it for OS files etc.

Or just load your whole OS into ram, everything is snot fast after that :D
