SSD prices on Takealot

Looking to buy a 480/500gb SSD from TAL.

Is R 1079 the normal price on the WD blue 500gb or would it go on special during the epic sale?

The Kingston 480gb is on special today for the daily deals at R899 but the read/write speed is less than the WD blue SSD.

Also has anyone used the other brands like Kingston / Lexar / Netac?

That's actually better then it has been, about a year or two ago it was R950 to R1080 on Takealot. Then it shot up to about R1200 for awhile last year.

Got one recently thanks to the advice around here and so far still happy. No issues. Paid 1078 then it dropped to 999 after I bought it. Mxm.

Which SSD did you get for 1078 and then dropped to 999?
 
The WD Blue. It's probably back up past 1k on takealot
 
In terms of Speed
Samsung 980 Pro
Samsung 970 Pro
WD Black

The WD Blue isnt bad. But the Samsungs are like Ferrari's vs the VW Beetle Blues

The Samsungs are generally 2x faster upto 3x faster than the WD Blues

You will not notice the difference for normal desktop usage or gaming, same goes for sata vs nvme.
