Basically this is the situation.

Windows 2000 server with DNS2go and VNC installed.
Linux box with Program on it.
Netgear DM602 router ADSL

Developers needs remote connection to the linux box.

With VNC on the Windows 2000 server and DNS2go we can connect to that server 100% fine.
The Developers needs to get through using port 22 SSH

I added on the Netgear Router Port Forwarding for port 22 to the ip address of the Linux box.

Now using a program called Putty.exe to connect with SSH it doesnt connect

The putty program is blank

Cannot Telnet either.

But VNC works like the bomb.

HELP PLS

Umm... And you can SSH to the linux box fine locally? (Useing IP)
I found that I really need to be outside my LAN in order to use the DynDNS hostname... else it just points to 192.168.0.1 (Internally) which is my Netgear router.
Also try testing useing your actual external IP insted of your DNS2go account.
If your Netgear Router supports it why not use a DynDNS account? You can always setup a hostname of your choice on a zoneedit account to forward? It saves you the trouble of running a cron job or a service on an windows box?
Lemme know how it goes.

Try ssh on port 222 even though putty default is set to 22
