Is anyone getting SSL error when trying to reach twitter, facebook, google, github today(17 Oct 13)? I get invalid certificate on all those site using https except other few once like Elance, bing. They seem to work. Tested this on Windows and Linux using Firefox and Chrome in both OSes

I'd be very suspicious of this, especially when it happened on more than one computer.
This could be a MITM attack.

(Unless you sync time/date from a central date server, and it was behind)

Yeah, got freaked out when nothing about it was reported online, hence the confirmation here.

EDIT: seems nand beat me to it

My limited IT knowledge might be failing me here but I believe its linked to the system clock. Some auth mechanisms require that it be reasonably correct. The windows systems does synchronize it automatically though so maybe thats why it went away.

Had the same issue with one or two machines at work.... Windows 7 ...
Just updated the root certs...
