Busy purchasing a laptop with either a Seagate Solid State Hybrid 500GB (SSHD) or a SAMSUNG 840 EVO 500GB (SSD). ETA on the SSD is 3-4 weeks , hybrid immediately. Is it worth the wait ?

Depends on how much room the lappy has, and how much space you need/will be using.

Room for 1 drive and you store a lot of stuff - SSHD

Room for 2 drives - SSD with an additional HDD

Room for 1 drive and you don't store a lot of stuff - SSD

Comprehension fail by me -.-. Yeah wait for the SSD, the performance increase over the SSHD will be worth it. How much are they asking for the ssd btw?

Yes it is although see if you can get the EVO 850 Pro. They go for roughly the same price but the 850 has a 10 year warranty.

It's not even a contest, the pure SSD is far better ...the SSHD only got 8GB of 'SSD' built in - that's nothing. But surely they not the same price?? - the SSD should be like 4 times more pricey!
