We have to be careful. I am all for nailing the criminals and adding the death penalty would probably be a good start. That said, however, adding cameras left, right and centre will only benefit one group of people. The government. The step from that to monitoring everything you do is very small. The technology is already in place to do so. Ask china. What happens next is that you go to a DA rally and then find that the job that you wanted at FNB is no longer available to you. Hell, FNB already backed down from their "crime initiative". Be careful what you wish for.

Don't get me wrong, I am all for nailing these bastards. I just think it can be done a little more creatively. How about tagging all of the people let out on bail and tracking their movements. You can match that up to the crimes in an area. Maybe the police should put a little more effort and a little less corruption into catching the illegal immigrants. I am sure one could get the army to move through an informal settlement, almost blanket mode, and check for them. Reports say that 50% of crime is committed by illegal immigrants, wouldn't that solve half the problem in one go. I am sure that a lot of crime is also committed by repeat offenders.

I am by no means a liberal but if we are not careful, we could quite easily have Zim style laws for the sake of securty.
 
I personally know of two home invasions in my street this month that happened to friends of mine. First one was in the day about two weeks ago where some murderer scum broke into a mate of mines house, tied his domestic up and then kicked her almost to death..for her cellphone and some food from the fridge. They never even took any appliances etc etc. Second was a woman that works with me..she was at home with her two kids a few nights ago. They literally kicked in some windows, charged into the house, violently assualted her (thank God they left her two small kids alone)... Got away with a few credit cards etc.

Security systems, cops, guns ...there's no stopping these scum. Its only a matterer of time when ones will number comes up (again).

Every single person I know including family members have been victims of crime... some brutally attacked and/or robbed and now terrified to go outdoors.

SA is a hell hole.

I encourage everyone to make a plan and leave asap. Anyways there's so many SA expats already in London and AUS/NZ , moving there almost seems to be the logical next step isn't it. I still believe that by 2050 the white population will be non-existant in SA.

Half my family is already overseas.
