Shyte, that's horrible... This just doesn't happen in the Western Cape.
I am having it, too. 11.5 hours every day!

Certain suburbs, mine included, in PE as well. 3 of my UPS have batteries that are already fff-ed - that's 6 batteries. There is just not sufficient up-time te get them charged properly!

Only my alarm batteries, I have 2 instead of the one, are still operational as they were both changed just last month.

I have a frogfoot CPE & a cheapie router.

Can you pls link the stuff I need from Takealot. I am not that tech savvy. Thank you.

Here in CT were get load shitted 24x7 but only in 2 ish hr slots.
Still waking up few times a week early to pitch darkness and no power can get a bit tiring.

Which 'burb?

Thank you, this mini UPS seems cool but it is kinda pricey.

Can I only power 1 device at a time?

Will I be able to power the CPE & Router simultaneously, or would I need to purchae another UPS?

Group 5 residents unite!
Did you get the SMS/Whatsapp about the e-mail to Gustav (Ward 8) to protest?

Craig Bester
4 hrs
The whole of PE (all the Wards) are invited to email Gustav Rautenbach on [email protected] to complain as PE gets up to 11.5 hours load shedding per day whereas East London gets 2.5 hours per day, sedgefield and knysna 2.5 hours per day; CT gets 4 hours per day; JNB gets 4.5 hours; Durban gets 4 hours etc etc ONLY PE GETS UP TO 11.5 HOURS PER DAY. PE thus getting almost TRIPLE what the other cities are getting
Please share with all your friends and family who reside in other Wards in PE and get them to complain
The more the merrier !

My girlfriend told me that it did the rounds in our complex group. I used to be at his offices often for work back at my ex ex-employer, quite a dedicated man he is - he really is fighting the good fight in the metro

whereas with the more frequent Cape Town schedule you are guaranteed to be load shed twice a day, every day, on stage 2.
No you're not...we were shed once today and will be once tomorrow. And once in Tuesday and Thursday.

I prefer CT loadshedding...it's rarely longer than 2 hours, which is nothing really.

Power just went out in Zone 11 (Cape Town) although I suspect it is a local substation issue. Heard a weird humming sound before electricity went out.

i wouldnt even bother at that ridiculous price

i would get a 12v charger and a proper battery and a small voltmeter to keep tabs on your battery status

I would just go get the one from Geewiz, I've had one for 2 months and it's powered my router and CPE for over 8 hours.

Yes, pretty pointless re-inventing the wheel when nice simple and not very expensive solutions are available off the shelf. Automatic voltage regulation is much more acceptable than a voltmeter connected across the battery that you have to remember to go and look at.
