Ramaphosa: Mandela's release 30 years ago was SA's victory, not an act of kindness by FW de Klerk

See the "Winds of Change" paragraph.

Apparently the ANC took over a bankrupt and failing state and economy...
Could be true, the country was sanctioned to hell and gone from the 70s, it was fighting a war for 20 wars on the borders and 40 years in the home front.

And you posting this here because?

Growing up in that bankrupt and failing state and economy, I lived in and grew up in a traditionally coloured suburb. Yet, I did not know what a pothole was. My father never had to replace a windscreen due to stone chips. I didnt know the smell of sewerage. Refuse was collected like clockwork weekly. Our electricity never seemed to switch off. Generally services, including services to the coloured suburb I grew up in, were spot on and dirt cheap. Municipal accounts was such a small percentage of our household income as my late father was a penny pincher to say the least and I never ever ever heard him complain about the municipal account.

But all that said, I am glad we got saved from that hell.

So back to the present.

I appears Unplanned outages are now hovering around 10.5GW, which explains why Stage 1 isn't necessary. Only if it goes up to 11.5Gw is Stage 1 required.

So the 9.5GW they say is the aim to avoid load shedding is crap and its actually 10.5GW?

And that some ppl still actually believe the numbers Eksdom continue to spew out, which are often a moving target depending on the flavour of the day/week/month....

Astounding.

Really guys. We live in a dynamic world. At the level of 44 GW, the difference in the numbers is small. What the problem is Eskom is trying to ensure a good end of the week for the SONA. Everything will be back to stage 2 on Friday.

I believe you. It must be difficult for De Ruyter to work with this type of mentality.

9.5GW is without using Emergency reserves ie: can be continuous 24/7 power.

10.5GW uses some Water and Diesel, which isn't sustainable and costs too much.
These ****ing idiots truly will never come right. Why are they STILL using EMERGENCY reserves that cost more money to produce than what they can sell the electricity for??? They couldve just kept it at stage 2.

So what is your solution? Or, are you completely happy with LS as a long term reality?
