i am a fan of these cheap chinese standalone dvd players mainly because of their price. my 2 year old Sakyno has packed up and was just wondering what you guys would advise as a standalone player cosidering i need it to be divx, dvd r-/+; scvd compatible. anyone know of any good deals going around?

Samsung has a few players out now adays thats leka cheap, but now a days almost all players have that features built in. You can even try the warfedale players, they are very cheap and is packed with features.
