Dear standardbank.

Your access to internetbanking on your main website is bad usability design.

I have to click 3 times.

- Internetbanking -> GO
- Then Login or register here (for new internetbanking)
- Only then I can put in my username and password

This should be embedded on the main page like FNB.

I am sure you have a team of usability people that could have told you that. Perhaps its time to start supporting people that do know how to do things.

I don't think Standard Bank are going to be keeping an eye on MyBB for UI tips from random internet people...

Recent change or was it always that way?

Why not just go directly to https://www.encrypt.standardbank.co.za/ and skip a step?

Don't get me started... login via Chrome on the old site still gives "wrong login details" after logging in with the correct details (if you got it wrong once before that). Session has a similar issue - then kicks you off immediately after logging on. Session in general is unreliable. Credit card Securecode email address is not visible and not apparent that it is not visible online. Had issues last night opening my emailed statements - login is my OLD CARD number of which I have no record... I can view the new card number and password in clear text online. Still have to switch between old/new site 4 years later - even though it has the same back end.

TL;DR Idiots are building Standard bank systems.

They should.

>>> random internet people might have a BA in Interaction Design / Usability

I also posted it on their main FB page. You would be surprised how many standard bank employees browse MyBB so am sure this will land somewhere.

That is not the point. Short links will get you there for sure, it should be implemented on their main page where you fill in a user name and password. Especially for the APP-link / New internet banking as it uses same user name and password and can be easily implemented like FNB has on their main page.

Instead they let people click 3 times to get where they need to be.

Switch to FNB and be happy?

I got FNB also. They are currently way ahead of the other banks.

I just find it shocking that a big corporate with dedicated usability analyst / teams deliver such poor design while the solution is realy simple. Pictures below to illustrate.
