Standard Bank card systems down

Standard Bank has confirmed on Twitter that it is experiencing problems with card acceptance at point of sale and ATMs.

This has left customers unable to make payments with their cards or draw cash, leaving them with no recourse if they are unlucky enough to not have any cash on them.
 
Again? Their PR team must be up to their knees dealing with this
 
From my own horrid dealings with them lately, I am going to call them Non Standard Bank from now on.

I am also going to suggest that they change whatever their slogan is now, to: "Uninspiring. Unmotivated. Uninvolved. Completely"

Substandard.

It's actually really irritating that they can't send out a notification to their customers. I have the app. Why not inform me when something is wrong?

Edit: Oh.. I see they did actually send one at 11:40. I definitely didn't get on Saturday.

I got stuck at Checkers this morning around 10:30. card just got declined each time. I don't carry cash, so had to drive all the way home and get my FNB card and drive back to buy some lunch. really annoying :mad:

Create a cash voucher and redeem it at the ATM?
