In the 5 years that we've had a Standard Bank account we couldn't get a merchant account - at all. No one ever gets back to us and everyone I speak to at STD Bank tells me to phone Monty (If I remember his name correctly) but he never returns calls or emails. So, in all honesty I don't know if they actually have a direct payment gateway.
BUT, AFAIK, they need to work through a 3rd party for this sort of thing. Bankserv acts as intermediate for all banks and you end having to go through them, either directly or through a 3rd party.
Take a look @ PayGate - they integrate with STD Bank's Merchant accounts directly. so when a client pays they see your name on the statement.

Standard Bank do have a system called Autopay (http://www.standardbank.com.na/SBIC/Frontdoor_02_02/0,2454,3447_270593_0,00.html), some of the major retailers such as Kalahari / Digital Planet use it.
It isnt a typical Credit Card gateway. The customer gets redirected to Internet Banking, the client logs on with their details, he selects which account he wants to pay from and the funds are transfered from his account to yours and your system receives a success notification.
If you want a credit card maybe mygate?

we landed up using mygate. Standard bank dont have a payment gateway solution. well atleast i couldnt find anyone at standard bank that understood me
