Standard Bank one-time PIN SMS problems

Standard Bank is having issues sending SMS messages for several of the bank's services, including one-time PINs (OTPs) required to complete certain transactions.

The bank contacted MyBroadband on Friday morning to inform us that it was aware of the issue and was working to resolve it.

Trying to pay on takealot since this morning and tried 3x in the past hour since it was so called "fix" but still not working!

So glad Absa moved away to 2FA years ago. Makes transactions real simple even when abroad traveling.

It's insane how SBSA is stuck in the '90s still.

I am sure there are teams of people working their asses off to get it resolved.
My problem is on the bottom of the article published by MYBB, it states the problem has been fixed before 12, but it clearly isn't fixed yet.

Get rid of SMS OTPS that are easily jacked and abused, let us use an authenticator or your app to 2FA. I hate sms OTPs. They are a weak form of OTP
NIST deprecated it since 2014 already.
