Hi,

I've got a revolving credit loan which I've paid in full. It's been paid since July but now beginning Dec it's now showing I've paid nothing of a R45000 loan. I've emailed customer service and spoke to standard bank on twitter. The customer service on email and complaints department don't even reply. I'm living in the UK so can't exactly go to the bank.

Anyone have any ideas or know someone high up that I can talk to?

Thanks

If they don't reply after a certain period then lodge a complaint with the banking ombudsman.

You'll need to call them via Skype. Did you request to settle the RCP? If not you might not have actually closed it :/

I also have one, I am not sure what you mean when you say it shows you paid nothing, it won't show zero balance if that's what you looking for, it's like a credit card so it will show the R45k that's available to you if you need it.

Also note that it attracts the R57 fee as long as it's open so you need to make provision for that otherwise get it closed.

how do i lodge a complaint with the banking ombudsman. Also i mean i have paid the monthly payments until it was paid. Then yes there was a monthly fee. but all of a sudden it went from fully paid to i owe the full amount.
Like as in i now owe the full amount and they tried to deduct the monthly payments again.
I have the statements showing proof its paid. I never missed a payment ever.

If you miss one payment of the fee they deduct the full installment amount, are you up to date with the R57 fees or did you let them accumulate? Did you reverse the monthly payments they tried to deduct? That is going to attract extra fees and make things even more complicated

Looks like a mistake on their part or a misunderstanding which should be easily resolved, pity you cannot get hold of them.

You google Banking Ombudsman, then you click on How To Complain link (and made sure you followed those steps) and then when you have followed the process, you click on the Contact Us on the top right for the contact details.
