Standard Line Speeds

Hey All,

just wanted to know roughly what are the standard domestic Line speeds for any given suburban area

Reason I ask is that we have just moved residence, and where we were I can't remember if we had a 1Mb or 2 Mb line - I do however recall that it was upgraded after 2 years from 384 to 1Mb. In the new house I checked the Router and says 2Mb Downstream so i am not sure if there was another upgrade or if that is the speed for the area

another upgrade happened last year/early this year. now all the old 1 meg lines have been upgraded to 2meg lines

Minimum ADSL = 2meg
Maximum ADSL = 10meg
Minimum VDSL = 20meg
Maximum VDSL = 40meg

So you might have had a 1meg line at the old house that has been upgraded.
