Anybody notice that a prepaid cell phone airtime recharge via the android app attracts a charge of R1.10?

Do not use takealot.com. tried to screw me out of 2 valid warranties.
Yea takealot is scam to the max lots of threads about them. Bought dell laptops on separate occasions, ram replaced with no name, some ram missing, one had a none serial matching harddrive etc.

Just not a place I trust.

I also picked this up in October, a charge that never occurred before. I checked on their website and this charge only applied if you had the "pay as you transact" type accounts, but was free if you were on a fixed monthly fee. After a lengthly phone call, they promised to credit the charges back to my account. I then received an SMS rather rudely informing me that my request was rejected.
Then Emailed them with a copy of the official bank charges details as stated on their website.
Received an SMS response 9 October advising me that the 3 amounts of R1.10 that I had already been charged would be credited to my account. Still waiting for the credit!!!
BTW I always recharge via Internet banking.

Correct they did do that.

Tried to convince me during the phone call that they had advised customers of the change, but could not provide me with any proof of this. At the time 9 October, their webpage had the following:

Copy and paste from Brochure on Standard Bank website

Fixed monthly management fee (Plus option)1
Monthly fee R95,00
This fee includes:
Electronic transactions² Unlimited
Standard Bank ATM cash withdrawals 6
Cash withdrawal at POS Unlimited
AutoBank cash deposits 3
Electronic balance enquiries and Standard Bank ATM mini-statements Unlimited
Standard Bank Prepaid Top-Ups Free
TravelWallet activation only Free
Annual Gold Cheque card fee Included
Debit/Cheque card purchases Free
Monthly Internet Banking subscription fee Free
MyUpdates (email/SMS notifications) Free

Shortly after my Email to them with this information, the Prepaid top-up was removed from the fees description on the website. The R1.10 charge only applied to the "pay as you transact option previously.
