Star Citizen

There are some for sale on the Starcitizen_trades subreddit, saw some on the last 6 months $260 - $400.
not sure if any of those sold. if you looks at some of the online stores like star hangar or impound then the
price will be well over the reddit sub price.

if you had the intel sabre raven code, those go for well over $1000.
These two ships cig will never be able to sell again apparently.

last year cig did put up for sale some rare liveries which were going on the grey market for hundreds of dollars.

and in other news, they crossed a billion in funding with an insane new concept ship Odin at $5000 warbond.

Yeah, CIG is pulling in massive cash at the moment. Their best sale ever. I am curious how many got into the Odin club, lol. It is an elitist org ship. To own that ship would mean that you would near always be on call. I had my time in EVE, and I know how demanding your availability can become.

Both the Intel and AMD game packages have increased considerably in value. I don't know how rare they are. You can let a Mustang Omega account go quick at around $300. I was surprised at seeing people putting these on bids.

CIG has always been good at selling pipe dreams.

There is a rumour, making it rounds, that Squadron 42 will be delayed. It is a rumour, so, yeah. It will be typical CIG though.

I am quite sure, the day that Squadron 42 becomes available, that it will be distributed on gaming marketplaces. If there are items you can buy, creating a game economy apart from Star Citizen, and maybe shared, it will use the CIG (RSI) launcher.

This is the only part that I can assume as true. It would make sense for CIG, simply because of the hardware ecosystem as a whole. Something that I do know, that I have heard from a media insider, is that they are working on optimising game controller support.

Speaking of game controller support, who here uses HOSAS? I was asking an avid Star Citizen player the other day what flightstick to recommend, and he said that HOSAS is superior to HOTAS for flight.

Hosas for me always been better even with my n00b thrustmasters.

I know a few people who lost their money in early projects, especially in housing, when things did not work out. The Odin is sold out and is reserved for an exclusive club. CIG indicated that additional buying rounds will open in the future...

Here is the thing, CIG has also now said, though I haven't seen or heard of it, that the Odin should not be expected for at least 5 years. That is a pretty long wait for spending $5000 on what is digital goods. A license that may or may not be fulfilled.

SQ42 is always 2 years away from release.
probably going to announce a delay and say they want to bring it to consoles.

5 year release window for the Odin would be quick by CiG standards.
the Banu merchantman was sold as a concept 13 years ago and then got abandoned
when the team working on it all resigned.
i would guess around 10 concept ships thats well over 5 years.

Javelin(previous biggest buyable ship) concept was 12 years ago,
and is due for release to star citizen universe when SQ42 releases.

HOSAM is a good option, can also pair that with rudders.

I guess we will find out soon enough since Summer Game Fest is around the corner. An event that CIG said they don't want to miss. It was speculated that the game will be announced at either DefenceCon or SGF.

Eh... so they postpone it again, maybe, but everyone is postponing, and everyone is assuming that it is due to GTA 6. What if GTA 6 is also postponed... everyone postpones, again???

To be honest, I don't care. I am a PC player, if GTA is postponed, then it will likely come to PC faster from the day it is released on console. Then, eh, games aren't cheap in ZAR anymore... There are a few exceptions, but that could be due to when the pricing was finalised for its respective marketplace. Anything I am interested in now has to be on a good sale.

Squadron 42 was a wetdream that came and went. By the time it is out, there will be something better to play.

I won't be surprised if there is some 'insider trading' going on within CIG. The company is raking in millions upon millions.

theres already leaks (pipeline discord) that no SQ42 updates at Summer Game fest.

and yes its a PC game so dont think cig cares too much,
except for all their devs taking leave to play GTA6.

no incentive to release 10+ year old concepts because they already got your money,
and then releasing them now will bump up the price considerably, so people who already own them
will then have cheap upgrades to more expensive ships.
current excuses for delayed concept ships are that their gameplay loops aren't ready in game
for them to be there.

So... Chris Roberts said in a recent interview that the Squadron 42 is in its closing development stages and that marketing will ramp up soon. What marketing? The game isn't even sold anymore and will likely be a +$60 game. They start marketing the game now, at the earliest I would assume a December release window, otherwise don't expect this game until Q1/Q2 2027. In AAA gaming, a 6-month marketing campaign isn't workable. That said, they have already sold many backer copies, but this game is suppose to bring in new buyers to this IP.

so not ready for us to hear from them.

Beta will probably involve the evocati members, but no word of anything yet.
