I only recently finished watching the Clone Wars series, I had watched a few of the first episodes years ago but I never got into it.

A few months ago I watched through the entire Rebels series and really enjoyed it so decided to go back and watch all the Clone Wars episodes and now I'm angry at myself for not having watched all these ages ago and before watching Rebels (and Rogue One).

If you enjoy the Star Wars movies I'd highly recommend you spend some time and watch these two animated series.

You can watch them chronologically in this order:

Episode I (optional)
Episode II
Clone Wars series
Episode III
Rebels series
Rogue One

Watching the Clone Wars series adds a lot of context to Anakin turning in Episode III as it always seems like in the movies it happens all too suddenly to make a lot of sense.

The 4th and final season of the Rebels series is starting next month and will likely tie up nicely with Rogue One (which already has characters brought over from Clone Wars and Rebels).

Funny enough i was the other way around. I couldn't stop watching clone wars and i haven't got past season 2 of rebels but sounds like i need to have another binge weekend

I love both and do lean more towards the Clone Wars now after watching it finished. Clone Wars does have a lot more episodes revolving around the politics which may put some people off, it also has a much darker tone than Rebels (holy hell the Maul story arcs in CW were pretty dark).

For me Clone Wars comes into its own in Season 4 and 5 but only because the previous 3 seasons set it up so well. Rebels is kind of just a "fun" show which always has action and little politics.

I agree that Rebels took a little while to get into, but it's actually quite good bringing the stories together. I really enjoyed the Obi-Wan vs Darth Maul scene on Tatooine, his change of combat from his normal stance to that of Qui-Gon to draw Maul into the attack was well done.

I still think that agent Kallus is General Draven in Rogue One, unless Kallus is somehow killed in the final seasons of Rebels.

Clone Wars all the way.

Also watched only couple of episodes when it came out but last year some time I decided to do it proper and must say I am really glad I did. Did Rebels after that, Glad I did it after. Pity Rebels was more Disney and less Star Wars but its also OK. Just Stay away from Lego or more Lego Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures, that is pure "Disney".

Arbitrary Note: Big Star Wars fan (Proof) so I may be bias.

Definitely agree it's more Disney but I still think they found a nice balance. I think season 4 is going to be a bit less Disney though as it's very likely at least one of the main characters is going to get killed off (most likely Kanan).

I was hoping to see more Ahsoka story as apparently she is "alive" still but unlikely they'll focus too much on her. Busy listening to the Ahsoka audio book to get my fix :D

Arbitrary Note: Big Star Wars fan (Proof) so I may be bias.

I've seen them all but never thought about watching them in the order you listed. thanks...i know what I am going to do now :)

So, Rebels is finished (and season 4 ended up being pretty epic).

What did you think of where the characters ended up? Thoughts on the world between worlds?

Looking forward to whatever Filoni has in store for us next.

Clone Wars revival just announced. Hyped!
