Anybody got this right for Ubuntu 11.04? Tried for a few hours yesterday following various tutorials and can't seem to get the installer to load without giving an error.

got it installed with PlayOnLinux. they have a built in walkthrough for installing it

Can you get your hands on a Windows installation? If so, try to just copy the whole directory to the Wine folder and see if it works.

I made a symlink to the SC2 folder on my data partition (installed via Windows) in my Wine folder. It kinda sorta worked. Could patch and get into the game, but it would crash with memory errors on map load. I reckon it's cause of the symlink and it should work if I copied the actual folder. But I was too lazy to try at that stage, and I haven't gone back to try again.

Try to have it on a linux partition, Wine doesn't always play nice with ntfs-3g partitions. For example, my WoW on linux never works on a NTFS partition, but once I have it on my ext3 partition it works 100%.

Now that is strange! Good to know ++, thanks!

Thanks EvilMash. Tried playonlinux, followed the instructions and it worked beautifully, first time. Patched and good to go. Now I need to work on getting the frame rates up from 15fps to something decent for a gtx560.
