So I finally got around to getting SCII.

I cannot seem to get the installation going from the DVD and the info on the net suggests it is because the installer on the DVD might be too old and they suggested the "Full Game Client" that you can get from the Battle.net site.

The problem is that this installer works through p2p primarily and I'm getting horrible speed, under 10kbps for the most part. If I disable p2p in the Blizzard Downloader it just sits there without switching over to the http Blizzard server.

My question, is there another way to get the files I require to get this installed? At the rate it is going now it will finish downloading by tomorrow (4Meg uncapped account) some time.
:(

It seems the DVD is corrupt, gets to 2% install and then bombs out.

Nobody know of a local battle.net server where one can get the files?

:/ ive still got mine installed but i havent updated it in ages , since last feb ! .... you might wana try http://gaming.do.co.za/downloads

sign up and search for patches there .

edit: now downloading the patches from there lol

Unfortunately it is not the patch I'm after, but the installer file of game itself, or to be more precise:
Installer Tome 1.MPQE

Dunno if this will help, but I had a similar issue when trying to install. I copied the entire DVD to HDD and ran the install from there. Worked fine. Maybe give that a bash?

thats happened to me twice , bfbc2 and the witcher 2 .... its really annoying !

T'is, 'specially when u pay X Rands for a game that should work straight out of the box. I pity the fool that buys the game and doesn't have the internet for answers to the problem. Back to the shop, etc etc... inexcusable really..

I can help you or anyone in the cape town area with the client... it's fully patched.
