...right, so when I switch my xbox on... sometimes.... it doesn't start up 1st time around. It does power up, but thats about it.... nothing else happens. I can hear the stuff on the inside aint doing sweet nothing....
I just get a "blue screen" to stare at... (ok, ok, that would be the AV screen on my telly), but seriously, it doesnt start up somtimes. Say about 3 out of every 10 power ups it fails to power up... and then some other times it would gooi me with a E74 (once a week or so ) would these to problems be related, and would they qualify for a swop-out. The xbox is only about a month old...

will if its a month old its under warranty still, so go swop it, it will eventually stop reading disks like mine did- I also did the mistake of just waiting, don't, get a new one ASAP.

what he said, it's under warranty go get a new one...

It sounds like your video cable is poked though... but rather get the whole thing swapped out

Thats true, many people don't realise a damaged video cable can cause RRoD and a host of other problems. Thats the first thing I had tested.

maybe that will be best yes... Seeing as its not the 1st time it gooi-ed me with E74.
How do I go about swopping it out?

A mis-seated video cable gives 4 flashing lights. But if you're getting an error code as well, better safe than sorry, swap it.

Hi, Ok, first is check all your connections, make sure everything is hunky dory there - if everything looks ok, and it is still giving you issues, then pack everything including cables, and swop the whole lot out - just get your reference number from M$ and take it back to the store.

It looks like you are in Cape Town - pity, becuase if you were in JHB you could take it to MIDigital direct - they are the official agents and just a super bunch of people to deal with!:D

They really are, not being sarcastic!

I had a scenario where the game froze and it refused to start up or it started up only part until I re-seated the VGA cable.
