Hello,

I am interested in planning for my first application (in quite some time) soon.

Are there any tips or best practices which one should consider when entering the planning stage of a program (deciding on it's requirements)

Is there maybe any programs that can aid me in creation of some flow diagram, when I am sorting out my loops etc?

As you can probably gather from my post, I am quite the "expert" in this field. I only intend to write simple admin based applications.

Any help would be appreciated.

Its hard to get motivated to program (for me) so please don't get too complicating :D

Well , after the flow charts is done. Few event planning documents and then you should start creating the GUI. After that you start coding.

or you could be agile (as in Agile Development Methodology) and just write the bloody code.

He has given you the best advice, particularly for "small admin apps". Do yourself a favour and google "Agile Development"

Give up programming, become a farmer or accountant or beach bum. You'll never be any good at programming if you cannot even motivate yourself at this stage.

Alternatively, the best way to program is to program, not to kerfuffle debating it on forums.

Correction, this is the best advice.
