Good Day Fellow Readers.

I would like some advise please.
The more detail the better.

I am wanting to start up my own business.
Where does one start and who is the best to use??
Is it better going through the banks self or getting a consultant?
Creating the company?
Getting finance?
Business plans?
Step one to the last... Can anyone give some advice please.

Can contact me at Hangouts app... Use my email tinusb1983@gmail.com

Or leave a comment here.

Kind regards and hope to hear soon.

Good Day,

Remove your email address, or I'll help to add you on spam lists. (or on hardcore porn dot com, your choice)

What kind of business would you like to start?

You need to come up with a money making idea, or else waste your money on something else. When you have an idea, then think of a name to trade with (and register it), or buy a shelf company.

With your registration docs, go to a bank, and open a business account. (I know FNB would help you with the step above when opening business account with them)

Then register at SARS for all the stuff.

Design your logo, stationary and website.

Register a domain, add web content, create email.

To get finance is easy (if you have a money making idea), if you think you can, then you can't and no one would help you.

If I were you I would start at the business plan first, it's very cheap to re-do you plan till you have it sorted. Imagine you are running the business, step by step, what channels you would use to buy services or products, how your clients would request quotes, services or products from you, in what programs do you process and keep track of these orders, how do you keep track of cashflow and balances, how do you place orders, how do you deliver your "product", how do you invoice and how and when do you get your money.

The sale isn't complete till you have the money in the bank.

Then in your plan imagine how you would market your company, how much would you spend on that, what is it in your business that make it worth it for someone to use your business (above someone else).

Work stuff in like measuring points, points in the transaction chain, that you can monitor to have an overview and drill down at any specific point in time to see how your business is doing. If you are running a business with employees, how are you going to measure their performance, would you pay them some sort of commission to motivate them?

Also work the negative things in, put what-ifs in like, say the client goes bankrupt and can't pay you, or they take 90 days to pay, or the country's financial system takes a knock, or your office burns down, list goes on... SARS hit you with a fine, (you maybe did something wrong because you didn't know), not knowing isn't an excuse.

When you have a robust plan where you figured everything out on paper, ask friends or people that run businesses to have a look at your plan (make them sign a NDA).

Then take all these steps above. (the name, registration etc.)

Send me a PM if you would like more details, or ask questions in the thread, oh, welcome to MyBB.
