Starting X server on VPS

I would like to do ssh port forwarding on a VPS (ubuntu) of X11 to view X11 apps from home PC

startx saysy no screen found

Xorg -configure says

It's been a while and not in the mood to fiddle endlessly...

EDIT: Note, installation of X11 / kubuntu-desktop said:

/sbin/ldconfig.real: /usr/lib/nvidia-375/libEGL.so.1 is not a symbolic link

I was going to suggest ssh -X, but mobaXterm's great. Love that product
