Hey.
I would love to know how you set up the dsl to give you a static I.P..

I remember doing it with my one but for the life of me can't remember how and now a friend has asked me to do hers... Please any help?

By default most accounts give you a dynamic IP. You need special (read: more expensive) account to get a static IP. The best way to get around it like groundnut said is to get dynamic dns and get whatever.dyndns.org to always point to your router, regardless of what IP you have that day

I always feel like an idiot on this site but anyways :P
Ok so I have got a dynamic dns account but how do I get it to always point to my router?

I have everything else sorted out now..
I just need to know how to get this to work now with my router...
I am guessing with the 10.0.0.2 site?

what router do you have? Most routers have a section called something along the lines of dynamic dns (something). You need to go to that part of your router and enter the details of your dymanicdns (or other) account.

You need to enter the dynamic DNS account details into your router config.
Every time your router connects or reconnects and gets a new IP address from your ISP it will send that IP address to the dynamic DNS host which will update it's DNS records to point back to your router IP.

If you're using your router in bridge mode and creating PPPoE sessions on your PC you can use something like ddclient to update your dynamic DNS account.
