Nothing wrong with the majority of their products, but don't expect any support on second hand items. I got my self a Logitech steering wheel, only 4 months old, that had a slight malfunction. They confirmed that its broken, and will replace it as its still under warranty (confirmed by them as well). Well, that was until they realised it was bought second hand, when all of a sudden they renounced they would help me. I think its pathetic, and they should burn in hell. Rant over.

Surely if you bought it seconds hand and have the original proof of purchase/warranty they HAVE to sort it out for you.

And because of this ALL Logitech products are crap?

Im just going to copy and past the first sentence from my post so you can read it again:

Pity. I broke the receiver for my wireless mouse (I told them it was my fault). The shipped me a new receiver free of charge from the EU, got it 5 days later. I initially just asked them where to buy a replacement.

:erm: Stay away from Logitech

Try contacting them again and not mention it's second-handedness. :)

Uhm... generally warranties state that you need to be the original owner (ie not second hand) for the warranty to be valid. Most companies, in fact, do this.

As Hamster asked, do you have a proof of purchase?

Are you dealing directly with Logitech? I wouldn't tolerate this. They are usually very good. Their products typically have good warranties and in my experience usually significantly outlast the warranty.

Some, and it's a copout that should not be tolerated. I never accept that nonsense.

They most likely don't care if you're the 10th owner, as long as you can provide the proof of purchase

Pretty sure if the OP requested this from the guy he purchased it from he'll get his wheels sorted out in no time

Never had any problems with Logitech products... they are well built and solid.
Have had quite a few of their mouses and keyboards and they last forever.

If you buys something second hand, the onus would be on you to check out the warranty conditions.
A lot of companies don't honour second hand items, as there is a suspicion as to why the original owner sold it.
BUT, you will find a lot of guys never send in their warranty cards or register with the company.
That is the first thing I ever do. And even more so if the original owner has never filled in the warranty card.
Fill it in and send it in as if you are the original owner.

I had the exact same think happen. broke my receiver and got a new one sent to me free of charge. Im a fan!

Haven't had to deal with Logitech directly before. Generally been happy with their products, my mouse in my wireless mouse keyboard set finally packed up after about 6 years, to be fair it's seen some mild abuse. Keyboard is still going strong.

If it's under warranty and you have proof of purchase, they will repair or replace it. If not then they won't repair it without a charge. Not sure what is exactly wrong with your steering but I had a problem with a G27. With the help of Google I managed to repair it myself.

Well the people I bought the wheel from seem much more helpful than logitech, and have offered to replace it for me! Wow, that's really nice of them.

It seems logitech have a policy, if you buy something second hand, warranty is void. Just like that, the product can be a week old, thats too bad. Warranty gone. In future folks, if anything breaks, just lie. Tell them you bought it. Make a fake invoice if you must.
